Delightful little Nike came to visit us this month - she is a 6 week old American Staffordshire Bull terrier and what a sweetheart she is!
Her owners had recieved Nike her from a friend a few weeks before coming to see us and wanted her to have a full check up. Dr Cathy checked Nike over, gave her a clean bill of health (plus a lot of cuddles) and ensured she was vaccinated, dewormed and also microchipped.
Puppies are very vulnerable to infectious diseases such as parvovirus and so we always recommend vaccinating. They can also be born with intestinal worms which they get from their mum so it is very important they have a good deworming routine started early in their life.
Microchipping provides lifelong identification and is so important - we see quite a lot of stray animals at the clinic and those that are microchipped are easily reunited with their owners.
Nike also registered for our Pet essentials program - this program covers a whole year’s worth of vaccinations, deworming, heartworm and flea prevention, plus other bonuses like some free hydrobaths, and discounts on in-clinic purchases such as food. It has been available for puppies and kittens for a while now but we are pleased to now offer it to our adult animals too. The program provides considerable savings on a preventative health program for your pet. This can be a great way to spread your Veterinary and health care costs for your pet over 12 months, through easy monthly instalments. We look forward to having Nike visit us again. It will be exciting to watch her grow up and we hope to get quite a few more cuddles in along the way - she is so cute!
